FLDSMDFR!

We drove a lot. Saw a lot. Awed a lot. One thing we did not do was pronounce anything correctly. When we tried, we sounded like Flint Lockwood in a family favorite, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.

Because I couldn't tell you the names of half the places we went today, here are some pictures outlining our adventures.

These are mossy-marshmallow rocks.
"Erin, look interested in these rocks."

Then, we were here.
Fun fact: the 'diamonds' of Diamond Beach
are not diamonds. Just glacier poop.

Erin shows how ice can kill.

It's just ice. Not diamonds.

It also looks invisible-ish.

Glaciers were everywhere.

I could have sat for an hour watching these move
around in the current.

So peaceful.

Converting the Icelandic Kronor
to $$ is not mental math. So google told us
this soup, sandwich and coffee cost
$32.00 🤯

The diner/shop with the expensive soup also sold
sweaters made by this lady.

If you asked me where this was, I'd only be able
to say, 'Somewhere in Iceland.'

This place was cool.

.
This very long, very steep trek was supposed
to maybe bring us to some scenery they used in
Game of Thones.
Let. Down.

100% would not recommend.

The handrails helped cool my face off.

Wedding pictures at the Black Sand Beach!

It's like Giant's Causeway...but not as giant!

We're going to climb this wall!

Dancing on the beach?

Why are these pictures of us climbing justified this way? Because they didn't like where I put them apparently and decided to do their own thing.

By this time, it was 8pm and we were cooked.

Tonight, our questionable hotel has more guests, so it feels more legit.

Tomorrow is Bill's 82nd birthday. We have some plans to honor him and we will head back towards Reykjavik and stay there for the rest of the trip.

Another Fun Fact: The famous Black Sand Beach
isn't really sand. It's pebbles and they get smaller
the closer you get to the water. But can't get too
close #sneakywaves
Hey, and no matter what I do, I can't get this picture to go where it is supposed to. So..goodnight.

  1. And, now I can't edit to add some missing words because it's all in source code. Definitely time for bed!
